“Guys like us that work on the ranches, are the loneliest guys in the world. They got no family. They don’t belong no place.”
John Steinbeck’s powerful and gripping masterpiece tells the story of two outsiders in search of the American Dream.
George and his simple-minded friend Lennie have nothing in the world except the clothes on their backs and a dream that one day they will have some land of their own. A place to call home.
Armed with nothing but hope, they hatch a plan to leave their life of poverty behind and make a fresh start.
The two men find work on a ranch and life looks good. But their arrival triggers a tragic chain of events which tests their friendship to the ultimate limit.

A group of three couples, old friends and all married on the same day, in the same chapel, gathers at the Helliwells' home to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. When they discover they are not legally married, each couple initially reacts with proper Victorian horror.
All couples find themselves reevaluating their marriages; hovering closely over the proceedings is the Yorkshire Argus' alcohol-soaked photographer, keen to record the evenings events for posterity, and a wickedly-destructive housekeeper who is hoping to use the couples' mortification to her own advantage.
